Wales and South Africa meet in the second semi-final of the Rugby World Cup 2019 at the International Stadium Yokohama on Sunday evening (local time).
Wales were involved in by far the most competitive of the quarter-final matchups, with them having to rally from a 12-0 deficit inside the first eight minutes to edge past France 20-19 in Oita last Sunday.
With France leading 19-10, the game turned in favour of Wales in the 48th minute when lock Sebastien Vahaamahina was sent off for Les Bleus for a blatant elbow on Wales flanker Aaron Wainwright. A late Ross Moriarty try, converted by Dan Biggar, eventually booked a semi-final berth for Wales.
The Springboks ended the dreams of the host nation as they overcame Japan’s Brave Blossoms 26-3. South Africa led 5-3 at the interval, but second-half tries from Faf de Klerk and Makazole Mapimpi (his second of the game), plus 11 points from the boot of Handre Pollard put the Springboks clear and into the last four of the tournament.
Wales vs South Africa Betting Lines & Prediction
Looking at RWC 2019 semi-final predictions for this game, although Wales won the Grand Slam in Europe this year and have won all five of their games in this tournament to date, their performances in Japan have generally been disjointed. They’ve shown great resilience, but that might not be enough against a very impressive South African team.
The Match Result betting lines sees South Africa as the -250 (1.40) favourites with Betway Sports, with the draw at +2800 (29.0) with bet365 and Wales at betting odds of +275 (3.75) with 888Sport.
