The Vegas Golden Knights (32-25-4) meet the Winnipeg Jets (36-19-4) at the T-Mobile Arena on Friday night.
The Golden Knights were on home-ice against the Boston Bruins on the Wednesday evening before this game, although the omens didn’t look encouraging going up against the in-form Bruins having struggled themselves of late, with four losses in five game prior to that. Their last result before that was a 3-0 defeat on the road at the Colorado Avalanche on Monday evening.
As things stand, the Golden Knights are averaging 2.92 Goals per Game, placing them 18th in the overall NHL standings. They are currently allowing 2.80 Goals per Game (8th overall). A sign of their struggles in attack is that Jonathan Marchessault is their leading scorer with 19 goals, while Alex Tuch has registered 26 assists.
The Winnipeg Jets were on the road at the Avalanche themselves on Wednesday evening, a game which comes on the back of what was an unexpected 4-3 OT loss on home-ice against the lowly Ottawa Senators on the Saturday evening before that. That surprise defeat to the Senators was their fifth loss in their last seven games.
The Jets are averaging 3.39 Goals per Game (6th overall) and are allowing 2.88 Goals per Game (10th overall). Mark Scheifele has hit the lamp on 30 occasions for the Jets this season, while Blake Wheeler has provided 56 assists.
This is not an easy game to call when it comes to predictions, with neither team showing any great form recently. The Golden Knights were formidable opposition at the T-Mobile Arena last season and having home-ice advantage is still enough to make the Golden Knights the tips on the Money Line odds here.
