Vasyl Lomachenko (13-1-0) fights Luke Campbell (20-2-0) at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night (local time). At stake are Lomachenko’s WBA and WBO world lightweight titles and the vacant WBC belt.
Vasyl Lomachenko has had a stellar boxing career. As an amateur he had 396 fights and lost just one. The 31 year-old Ukrainian, who took Olympic gold in 2008, has gone on to win world titles at featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight as a professional. Such was his record as an amateur, that of his 14 fights as a professional, 13 have been for world titles.
Luke Campbell, also 31, has had only one world title shot to date, which ended in a narrow points defeat to Jorge Linares in 2017. The British boxer (who himself had approximately 160 amateur fights) took Olympic gold at London 2012.
Lomachenko vs Campbell Betting Lines & Prediction
The Lomachenko Vs Campbell betting lines going into this fight firmly favour Vasyl Lomachenko and his record is such that he is invariably expected to win in the vast majority of all his fights in pre-bout predictions.
However, there is some hope for Luke Campbell here, who has an advantage in terms of both height and reach, while Lomachenko is seen as a more natural featherweight and the move up the divisions could potentially go against him against a fighter of Campbell’s quality.
In the Fight Result betting odds, Lomachenko to win is -1618 (1.06) with Sports Interaction, the draw is +2500 (26.00) with Betway Sports and Campbell is on offer at odds of +800 (9.00) with bet365.
Those odds are way too short to back a straight Lomachenko win, so it makes sense to look at some of the other boxing betting markets. Lomachenko to ‘Win by Decision or Technical Decision’ is available +250 (3.50) with Betway, which is far more appealing and is our betting tip.
