Al Iaquinta (9-3) fights Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (22-8) in a lightweight encounter that’s the main event at UFC Fight Night 151 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The winner of this bout could well go on to fight the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Dustin Poirier.
Iaquinta pulled off an upset to beat Kevin Lee by decision last time he fought in December 2018. Cerrone beat American Alexander Hernandez with a 2nd round KO in his last fight in January this year.
Four of Iaquinta’s eight UFC victories came via knockout, while the vastly experienced Cerrone has 16 finishes out of 22.
Both these fighters have good standup games as well as solid ground games. There’s not a great deal separating them in the betting either, but Iaquinta looks a worthy favourite at -137 with bet365, with Cerrone at +110 with 888Sport.
Pick: Fight Result – Al Iaquinta @ -137 (bet365)
Canadian Fighters – Fight Night 151 :
Derek Brunson vs Elias Theodorou Prediction & Betting Odds
Derek Brunson (18-7) fights Elias Theodorou (16-2) in a Middleweight bout at UFC 151.
American Brunson’s last fight ended in defeat by 1st round KO to New Zealand’s Israel Adesanya in November 2018. Canadian Theodorou won his last fight by split decision against the American Eryk Anders back in December.
Brunson is the bigger and more powerful fighter, but his career seems to have stalled somewhat of late and he doesn’t always make the best decisions in fights.
Theodore has never lost a fight in his homeland and, although he’s not noted as a KO specialist, he’s the smarter fighter and looks to be capable of frustrating Brunson and taking the fight on a decision.
There’s very little to choose between these fighters as indicated by the UFC betting lines, with Brunson a marginal favourite at -110 with bet365, while Theodorou is -105 with Betway Sports.
Pick: Fight Result – Elias Theodorou @ -105 (Betway)

Brad Katona vs Merab Dvalishvili Prediction & Betting Odds
Canada’s Brad “Superman” Katona (8-0) fights the Georgian Merab Dvalishvili (8-4) in a Bantamweight bout on Saturday night at UFC 151.
In his last fight back in December 2018, Katona had a Unanimous Decision win over the American Matthew Lopez.
Dvalishvili also won his last fight by Unanimous Decision when beating Terrion “Flash” Ware of the USA. In doing so, Dvalishvili ended a somewhat controversial two-fight losing streak.
This a fight between two technically adept fighters, both of whom are comfortable striking and grappling. Katona might have the advantage in the former, with Dvalishvili the more seasoned grappler who will be looking to gain a submission if he can take his opponent to the floor.
This looks likely to go to a decision win, with Katona possibly just shading it. Katona is the slight betting underdog going into this fight at odds of +138 with bet365, while the UFC betting line on Dvalishvili is set at -162 with 888Sport.
Pick: Fight Result – Brad Katona @ +138 (bet365)
Marc-Andre Barriault vs Andrew Sanchez Prediction & Betting Odds
Marc-Andre “Power Bar” Barriault (11-1) fights Andrew “El Dirte” Sanchez (10-4) in a Middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night 151.
Barriault is making his UFC debut, but the Canadian arrives as the TKO MMA Middleweight champion and is on an eight-fight winning streak and has 8 knockouts to his name. Barriault certainly has the power to put Sanchez away, although he isn’t the most technically accomplished fighter.
Sanchez comfortably beat Brazil’s Markus Perez by decision in his last fight in August 2018. The American is an experienced wrestler who will look to take the Canadian down and keep him there looking for submissions and ground and pound.
UFC predictions for this fight have to take account of the pressure on Barriault making his UFC debut, but he can rise to the occasion and win here. The betting lines on Barriault are +138 at bet365, while Sanchez is -149 at Sportingbet.
Pick: Fight Result – Marc-Andre Barriault @ +138 (bet365)
Macy Chiasson vs Sarah Moras Prediction & Betting Odds
Unbeaten American Macy Chiasson (4-0) fights Canada’s Sarah “Cheesecake” Moras (5-4) in a bantamweight bout.
Chiasson’s last fight saw her KO America’s Gina Mazany in the 1st round, while Moras was beaten on a decision in her last fight by Brazil’s Talita Bernardo back in October.
The mixed martial artist will step in on short-notice to take on Moras just two months after her last fight. While some are sceptical about Chiasson cutting down to bantamweight on short-notice, she’s confident that she’ll make 135 pounds without issue.
Moras does have a decent ground game and likes to shoot for a double leg, but she’s giving up two inches of height and five inches of reach to Chiasson.
Chiasson is a strong favourite in this fight at odds of -550 with Betway and looks likely to have too much for her opponent, who can be backed at +450 with bet365.
Pick: Fight Result – Macy Chiasson @ -550 (Betway)
Aiemann Zahabi vs Vince Morales Prediction & Betting Odds
UFC 151 features a Bantamweight fight between Aiemann Zahabi (7-1) and Vincent “Vandetta” Morales (8-3).
The Canadian Zahabi lost his last fight, the first defeat of his professional career, to a spinning elbow against Brazilian top prospect Ricardo Ramos in a 3rd round KO.
The American Morales also lost his last fight by decision to China’s Yadong Song on short notice in Beijing. Morales is a striking specialist with a limited ground game, whereas Zahabi looks to be a more rounded fighter.
Zahabi is coming off a loss and it’s been a quite a while since he was in the octagon, but he will still be our UFC pick to win this fight as the more solid performer who can rely on decent grappling skills. He can be backed at -162 with Betway, with Morales at +140 with bet365.
Pick: Fight Result – Aiemann Zahabi @ -162 (Betway)
