For the first time in the UFC’s 25 year history, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is staging a Fight Night card in Argentina. The event will be held in Buenos Aires on Saturday 17th of November and one of their own stars – Santiago Ponzinibbio – is the main event headline act.
Ponzinibbio will face off at 170lb against US mixed martial artist Neil Magny, a perpetual top contender in this weight class. Our Ponzinibbio Vs Magny betting odds and preview below gives the latest UFC betting lines and a prediction for the main event in Buenos Aires on Saturday night.
There is no doubt that UFC Fight Night 140 has been tailored for Santiago Ponzinibbio to have a main event win on home soil and he is the strong -333.30 favourite at Betway to beat Magny. But Magny is a true Pro, and will not be turning up to make up the numbers.
Magny is a former Army marine and is as tough as they come, a skilled grappler with good striking and a lot of heart. He has won 3 of his last 5 fights, but after a losing spell he’s won his last two, including a win over Carlos Condit, which is a significant string to his bow. Neil Magny is the bookies +250 underdog here and rightly so, fighting away from home against a rising force, but the Argentine will need to be at his best.
Our UFC pick has to be Santiago Ponzinibbio though, as he has every incentive to put on a memorable performance and get one step closer to a title shot. He knocked out Gunnar Nelson two fights ago, in July of 2017 – an impressive feat. The 32-year old then won a unanimous decision victory over “Platinum” Mike Perry last December, another very notable success. UFC Fight 140 is a groundbreaking event for Argentinian MMA and Ponzinibbio is the main prediction to win the fight.
