The Toronto Maple Leafs (27-13-2) meet the Boston Bruins (25-14-4) on Saturday evening at the Scotiabank Arena.
The Maple Leafs were most recently in action on Thursday evening on the road at the New Jersey Devils, with their previous result prior to that being a 4-0 loss on home-ice to the Nashville Predators on Monday evening.
At present the Maple Leafs are averaging 3.62 Goals per Game, which places them an excellent 2nd place in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 2.79 Goals per Game, which leaves them tied 6th overall in the standings for the season to date.
The Bruins were in action on home-ice against the Washington Capitals on Thursday evening, but prior to that they were on a winning run of five consecutive games, the last of which was a 4-0 win at home to Minnesota Wild on Tuesday evening.
The Bruins are currently only averaging 2.91 Goals per Game, which leaves them down in 17th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are particularly strong though, allowing just 2.56 Goals per Game, which places them 2nd overall.
On an individual basis, David Pastrnak has scored 25 goals for the Bruins this season, while Brad Marchand has recorded 31 assists.
The Maple Leafs have a relatively poor record on home-ice this season for a team of their quality, which makes any wagers for this game all the more difficult. That’s magnified by the fact that the Bruins are currently on an excellent run of form themselves.
However, the Maple Leafs’ roster possesses sufficient attacking qualities to suggest that they could be capable of breaking down the Bruins defensively and so it’s the Maple Leafs who are the tips to win this on the Money Line betting odds.
