Spread: Cowboys by 4
Money Line: Titans +220; Cowboys -260
Dallas appears to have admitted that they do indeed need a No. 1 caliber wide receiver and traded for one last week, Amari Cooper. The move has been met with a lot of criticism, though. Much of it is because people think the Cowboys overpaid for him.
It will take time to find out for sure. But since he hasn’t been with the team long, his timing with Dak Prescott is going to be a work in progress. However, if he can force the Titans to spread the defence out, that could open up routes for Cole Beasley and running lanes for Ezekiel Elliot.
As for the Titans, their offence has not been very consistent this season. Marcus Mariota has missed one game, thrown for less than 130 yards in four, and for 300+ in only one (the win over the Eagles). Tennessee has also struggled to run the ball this season.
Prescott hasn’t done a much better job throwing the ball, but he has done a better one (four games under 200 yards). Ezekiel Elliot has been a beast, but since teams know they don’t have to worry about the Dallas passing game, they focus on him.
So—who’s going to win?
Tennessee is struggling to get anything done on offence these days. Against a very tough Dallas defence, they will likely continue to struggle this week. The Cowboys would love the opportunity to exert some dominance over a team during prime time. They just might be able to do it this week.
Take the Cowboys (-260) to win over the Titans (+220), straight up and against the spread (-4). As for the over/under—take the under (42.5).
