The Tennessee Titans have not looked much like a team that made the playoffs last season—until last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, that is. Their defence didn’t necessarily slow down Carson Wentz or Jay Ajayi, but they did enough to send the game to overtime and keep the Eagles out of the end zone.
The defensive effort wasn’t really surprising, but the success the offence had was. Marcos Mariota hasn’t been healthy all season, but you wouldn’t have known when he capped off a 344-yard day with his second touchdown to Corey Davis at the buzzer in OT.
But their running game—dismal to say the least.
As for the Bills, little has been expected of them since Week One, and little will likely be expected of them all season. A week after dismantling the Vikings, the offense was back to looking completely inept. LeSean McCoy can’t seem to get on track. Josh Allen looked like a rookie that could benefit from time on the bench.
Buffalo’s defence is almost nonexistent. They certainly are not a factor in games.
So—who’s going to win?
The Titans have some injury issues on the defensive side of the ball that may make it easier for Josh Allen to produce. But there is no reason to think the Titans will not win this game. Mariota is playing well. The defence is clicking, and the Bills are a mess.
Take the Titans to win (-185.19) over the Bills (+155) and cover the spread (3.5). As for the over/under (39), it is not unreasonable to think these two could score 40 points. Take the over.
