The St. Louis Blues (9-13-3) meet the Edmonton Oilers (13-12-2) at the Enterprise Center on Wednesday evening.
The Blues come into this game on the back of a 6-1 loss at the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday evening and they are already well off the pace in the Central Division.
The Blues are averaging 2.96 Goals per Game, which leaves them 18th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 3.40 Goals per Game, which puts them down in 25th position in the standings. On an individual basis, Ryan O’Reilly leads the way with 12 goals and 16 assists.
After a three-game winning streak, the Edmonton Oilers went down to a 4-1 loss at the Dallas Stars on Monday evening.
The Oilers are only averaging 2.63 Goals per Game, which leaves them a lowly 27th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 3.07 Goals per Game, which places them in 17th position overall. Connor McDavid leads the way for both goals scored and assists, with 14 and 21 respectively.
Neither of these teams is having a great season to date, which doesn’t help with making any betting predictions. However, the Oilers have the better record and in McDavid they have a player capable of making game-winning performances against far better quality opposition than the Blues.
The Blues are marginal bookies favourites for this game, but they have also lost six of their last eight games, so the Oilers are our tips on the Money Line odds to win what could be a low-scoring game.
