The San Jose Sharks (11-7-3) and the Edmonton Oilers (9-10-1) meet at the SAP Center at San Jose on Tuesday evening.

The Sharks come into the game on a good run of results that has seen them win three of their last four games, including a 4-0 win on home-ice on Saturday evening against the St. Louis Blues.  That win featured two goals from Joe Pavelski, while Logan Couture provided three assists.

The Sharks are currently averaging 3.24 Goals per Game, leaving them 10th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they have allowed 2.95 Goals per Game to date, which leaves them in 15th position in the overall rankings. On an individual basis, Pavelski is the current Sharks leading scorer with 13 goals, while Brent   Burns has 19 assists to his name.

The Oilers are currently on a very poor run of results that has seen them lose six of their last seven games. On Sunday they suffered a 6-3 loss on home-ice to the Vegas Golden Knights, after having led the game 2-1 at the end of the 1st Period.

The Oilers are averaging 2.85 Goals per Game as things stand, leaving them 23rd in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they have allowed 3.30 Goals per Game, which puts them in a lowly 28th position overall. Despite missing a number of games through injury, Connor McDavid leads the way for both goals (12) and assists (16) for the Oilers this season.

In terms of our NHL predictions, the Sharks have to be the betting pick in this game based on current form and home-ice advantage. They are clear favourites on the Money Line odds at -200 with bet365*.
