It’s been a rough season for Toronto, but the Argonauts are still alive for a playoff spot. But they really need to string a few wins together if they are going to secure a spot. They’ve been competitive since Week Eight; twice they won by a single point, but they have also lost their last three.
Saskatchewan could be the perfect team for the Argos to get things back on track. Roughriders pivot Zach Collaros is coming off a terrible game against Ottawa that saw him complete barely 37 percent of his passes. The Roughriders have a decent run game, but it wasn’t enough to save them last week.
However, the one thing every struggling QB could use is a game against a poor defence and the Argonauts struggle against the pass. But if they can figure out how to get some pressure on Collaros, as Ottawa did, maybe they can force him to make some mistakes.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson has been playing well of late but has had the unfortunate luck of playing good teams. With a little more help from the defence, the Argonauts could have a much different record.
So—who’s going to win?
This could be the upset of the week. With how poorly the Roughriders offence has looked, not that Toronto’s defence gives me any confidence, I’m going to say Toronto takes the win (+130) over Saskatchewan (-150). If they don’t, they will at least cover the spread in what will be a close, low-scoring game (go with the under; 51 points).
