Brooklyn will enter Wednesday night’s game against the Raptors in need of a win in order to help keep their postseason hopes alive. But they haven’t been playing great basketball of late having lost six of their last nine.
However, with the playoffs on the line, the Nets know they are going to have to get off to a good start if they want to win.
“We have to come out against a playoff quality opponent and try to set the tone early,” Brooklyn’s Joe Harris said, via ESPN.
Doing so will be easier if the Raptors decide to rest some guys. But there has been no indication that they plan on doing so. Head coach Nick Nurse may just be inclined to monitor how much everyone plays rather than sit them down. That way they are more apt to remain focused.

Spread: Raptors by -1.5,-130
The line is likely short because oddsmakers think Toronto is going to sit a few people down. But there has been no indication as of yet that any of the primary players are going to sit. Look for the Raptors to win straight up and against the spread.
Toronto seems to be playing well no matter who is the lineup. Brooklyn, on the other hand, is struggling. Don’t expect a ton of scoring from the Nets. Try as they might, the Raptors will not score enough to justify taking the over.
Money line: Raptors – 130 ; Nets +110
Brooklyn needs the win much more than Toronto but expect the Raptors to give them more than they can handle. In the end, the better team will prevail, and Toronto will come away with the win.
