The Patriots didn’t look like they were Super Bowl bound during the regular season. But when they needed to look the part in the playoffs, they did. The Rams, on the other hand, have been one of the more dominant teams in the NFL this season.
While their defence didn’t always play well, overall, they played well enough.
When the two face off in Atlanta, they could very well take a similar approach. They are going to hold out hope that their defence can get one or two stops while trying to bleed as much time off the clock as possible.
Whether it is Todd Gurley or C.J. Anderson, the Rams will probably try to control the clock with their run game with enough passing mixed in to keep the Patriots defence honest. New England will do the same thing but in a different manner.
Rather than rely solely on the run, Tom Brady will dink and dunk his way down the field with short passes to James White, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman with runs by Sony Michel worked in.
If either struggles to control the clock or falls behind, they both have the personnel to air the ball out.

So—who’s going to win?
The Patriots will likely get off to a better start since they will not have the same Super Bowl jitters as the Rams will. But by the time the second quarter rolls around, the Rams will have their butterflies under control.
This game is going to go down to the wire. Late in the game, in the Super Bowl, it is hard to go against Brady. So, take the Patriots (+115) to win over the Rams (-139), straight up and against the spread (+2.5).
As for the over/under—go with the over (56.5).
