The Penguins were last in action on Wednesday evening when they were on the road at the New York Rangers (result unknown at time of writing), but prior to that their last result was a 3-2 win at Minnesota Wild on New Year’s Eve. That victory took their winning streak to six consecutive games.
The Penguins are currently averaging 3.38 Goals per Game, which leaves them in 7th in the overall NHL rankings, while defensively they have allowed 2.90 Goals per Game, which puts them 14th overall. On an individual basis, the legendary Sidney Crosby leads the way for both goals and assists, with 18 and 30 respectively for the Penguins this season.
The road trip to the Penguins will be the first action the Jets have seen since New Year’s Eve, when they won 4-3 at the Edmonton Oilers.
The Jets are currently averaging 3.41 Goals per Game, which puts them up in 6th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 2.82 Goals per Game, which leaves them in a respectable 10th position overall. On an individual player basis, Patrik Laine has scored 24 goals for the Jets, while Blake Wheeler has registered 44 assists so far.
Two in-form teams makes this a difficult game for our NHL betting predictions, but the Penguins are on a great winning streak at present and with home-ice advantage, they are the pick here on the Money Line odds.
