Novak Djokovic and Denis Shapovalov meet in the second singles match of the quarter-final tie between Serbia and Canada at the ATP Cup 2020 at the Ken Rosewall Arena (the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre) in Sydney on Friday.
World no.2 Djokovic has, as anticipated, played a leading role in steering Serbia into the last eight of the tournament, in winning all three of his singles matches in the group stage without dropping a set.
Shapovalov, the 20 year-old world no. 13, has shown vast improvement over the latter months of 2019 and has come in to 2020 looking as if he is going to maintain that form.
At this tournament he has won two of his three singles matches to date and both of the doubles matches in which he featured.
Head To Head
Djokovic leads Shapovalov 4-0 on the head-to-heads, with the last encounter between the pair coming just a couple of months ago in the final of the Rolex Paris Masters, with the Serbian winning in straight sets, 6-3 6-4.
