Washington Capitals vs Pittsburgh Penguins
It’s Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Round 2 playoff series between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins at the Capital One Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Penguins have a distinct psychological advantage when it comes to facing the Capitals in the playoffs, having won on nine of the 10 occasions that the pair has met in the knockout stages. That includes the last two seasons when, like this year, they have faced each other in the Metropolitan Division semifinals. When the pair clashed earlier in the regular season it finished with two wins apiece, with each securing one victory on the road.
Penguins’ center Evgeni Malkin missed the first game of this series with injury, but did travel with the team so could feature on this occasion. However, forward Carl Hagelin remains a definite injury absentee.
The Penguins could claim a vital win in this one though.
Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins
