The Montreal Canadiens (17-11-5) meet the Boston Bruins (17-11-4) on Monday evening at the Bell Centre, in a battle between two NHL arch rivals.
In their last game on Saturday evening, the Canadiens recovered from a 2-1 deficit at the end of the 2nd Period to secure a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on home-ice.
The Canadiens are currently averaging 3.21 Goals per Game which puts them into 11th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 3.24 Goals per Game, which leaves them down in 21st overall. One player currently leads the way for both goals and assists for the Habs this season, with Max Domi having registered 14 and 19 respectively.
The Bruins faced the Buffalo Sabres on home-ice on Sunday afternoon (result unknown at time of writing). Prior to that, they lost 5-3 on the road at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.
The Bruins are currently averaging just 2.72 Goals per Game, which leaves them down in 27th place in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are far more impressive though, allowing just 2.63 Goals per Game to leave them 2nd overall.
Despite the Bruins lack of team goals, David Pastrnak has single handedly scored 21, while Brad Marchand has registered 23 assists.
Given the intense rivalry between these two teams, this is not an easy game for result predictions. What could give the Habs the advantage though is that they have home-ice and a day’s extra preparation, so they are the tips on the Money Line odds.
