Lawrence “The Sauce” Okolie (11-0) fights Wadi “Machoman” Camacho (21-7) for the British & Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles over 12 rounds at the Copper Box Arena in London on Saturday night.
Anthony Joshua’s protégé Okolie, a former Great Britain Olympian from 2016, will look to claim the 12th victory of his career in defending his British & Commonwealth Cruiserweight belts against Camacho.
Okolie comes into this bout having last fought as recently as early February this year, when he won via TKO in the 3rd round against Tamás Lődi of Hungary at the O2 Arena.
The Barcelona-born Camacho will also be defending a belt which, coincidentally, is the one that Okolie gave up last year. Camacho comes into this fight having won four straight bouts and he picked up Okolie’s vacant Commonwealth cruiserweight title last November when he defeated Arfan Iqbal via TD. The fight was a rematch from July 2017, when Iqbal won via TKO.
Not only is Okolie clearly the better all-around fighter, but he also has the height and reach advantage over Camacho. In addition, in Okolie’s assessment, Camacho has fought lower quality opponents than he has which, other than Iqbal, is difficult to argue with.
Lawrence Okolie vs Wadi Camacho Betting Lines
In terms of predictions for this fight, Okolie is a strong favourite at -2000 with William Hill, while Camacho is +800 with 10Bet. That’s not a betting line that offers much attraction for Okolie, so it makes sense to look at other markets in terms of tips.
The punching power of Okolie has given him a high KO rate of 73% in his fights, so it would seem doubtful that this fight will go the distance, so backing him at odds of -120 with William Hill in the Round Group Betting could offer some betting value.
Pick: Round Group Betting – Lawrence Okolie Round 1 to 6 @ -120 (William Hill)
