The Lakers (11-9) are coming off a complete disaster of a game against the Denver Nuggets (Tuesday night; 117-85). After a slow start to the season, the Lakers have been playing much better. But they have been hit hard with injuries and become inconsistent.
Lonzo Ball had to leave Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury but says he will be playing Thursday night.
Indiana will be without their star, Victor Oladipo, once again. But the team has had some success in generating shot opportunities by sharing the ball a lot more. As a result, they have recorded 30+ assists in three of their last four games.
The Pacers will need more of the same in order to win. For the Lakers to do so, LeBron will need some help from his supporting cast. It might not hurt if he listens to his head coach a little more, rather than ignoring him.
- Spread: Lakers by 4.5
The Lakers will have the star power in LeBron James, but they don’t have much other than him. The Pacers will miss Oladipo again. But head coach Nate McMillan seems to have a game plan in place that works—as long as guys hit their shots.
Take the Pacers and the points.
- Over/Under: 218
Both teams can score some points, but neither is operating at 100 percent. Take the under.
- Money line: Lakers -192.31; Pacers +160.00
It is never easy to go against LeBron James, but his Lakers team is struggling hard right now. While the Pacers do not have the talent the Lakers do, they are better coached. For that reason, take the Pacers to win over the Lakers.
