This is a bout between two up and coming young fighters, both of who will be desperate to return to winning ways and keep their careers on an upwards trajectory following defeats in their last fights.
Australian 23 year-old Jimmy Crute suffered the first loss of his professional career in September last year, when he was beaten by a Peruvian necktie submission in the first round against Misha Cirkunov.
It will be interesting to see how Crute responds psychologically to having suffered that first defeat. He doesn’t possess the punching power of Oleksiejczuk, although he still carries a threat with his punches.
His submission game is more impressive and he will be looking to take this fight to the ground, where he can use his black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu complimented by his ground-and-pound.
All of Oleksiejczuk’s last five wins ended in the first round and his ability to finish an opponent with a single punch is his most likely means of winning this bout.
