Unbeaten WBC Interim Middleweight champion and Houston-native Jermall Charlo will return to his hometown to defend against middleweight contender Brandon Adams Saturday, June 29
Jermall Charlo has knocked out 21 of his opponents, which accounts for 75% of his total wins and is widely regarded as one of the most potent punchers in boxing. He won the WBC interim middleweight title with a 2nd round knockout against Hugo Centeno Jr. in April last year.
Charlo successfully defended the belt for the first time when he beat late-replacement Matt Korobov by unanimous decision in a tough fight in December. Jermall’s twin brother, Jermell, controversially lost in a WBC super welterweight title fight by unanimous decision to Tony Harrison on the same bill.
Jermall Charlo vs Brandon Adams Prediction
With Jermall Charlo fighting under the PBC banner, it’s been difficult for him to get an opportunity against the elite middleweight fighters such as Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Gennadiy Golovkin, Daniel Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade, who all fight under DAZN.
Brandon Adams didn’t box for three years after being stopped by John Thompson in May 2015, but has had four consecutive wins since his comeback. His last fight was in November, when he defeated Shane Mosley Jr. by unanimous decision.
In addition to his 100% record, Charlo has a 3 inch height advantage and a 3 1/2 inch reach advantage over Adams, so he has to be the best bet in any boxing predictions going into this fight.
