The Grizzlies (16-16) got off to a good start to the season going 12-5 but have since dropped 11 of their last 15 including their last five. They have not scored 100 points in a single game since dropping 107 on the Pelicans on December 7.
The Lakers have won their last six at home, but have lost three (to Houston, Washington, and Brooklyn) of their previous five. They have no problem putting points on the board but have struggled with consistency on both ends of the court this season.
However, the Lakers did get a boost Friday night with the return of Brandon Ingram and Rajon Rondo. Both contributed to the win that night over the New Orleans Pelicans, 112-104. The Lakers may be without JaVale McGee (illness) for a fourth straight game, but Ivica Zubac has filled in admirably.
- Spread: Lakers by 6.0
The Lakers are not playing great, but they are playing much better than the Grizzlies are. They should not have any trouble covering the spread.
- Over/Under: 207.5
Memphis has not scored 100 points in eight straight games. The Lakers have a decent defence, so they probably will not come close in this game, either. Los Angeles can pick up some of the slack but not enough to take the over. Take the under.
- Money line: Grizzlies +200.00; Lakers -256.41
The Grizzlies have lost five in a row, can’t seem to score, and are struggling to slow down opposing offences. While the Lakers are not playing incredibly well, they are playing well enough to handle the struggling Grizzlies. Take Memphis to win.
