Detroit Pistons Stats
The Pistons were in action on Tuesday night when they went down to a disappointing 133-119 home-court loss to the Washington Wizards.
Derrick Rose and Markieff Morris each scored 22 points, with Bruce Brown adding 20 for Detroit against Washington.
The Pistons were without their injured stars, Blake Griffin (sore left knee) and Andre Drummond (left eye inflammation), although both could return against the Toronto Raptors tonight.
The Pistons have averaged 109.3 points per game, while they have allowed only 109.6 points a game. The Pistons have been getting 43 boards a game, while they have managed to get 25 assists a game.
Detroit are 7-7 on home-court this season.
Toronto Raptors Stats
The Raptors had a comprehensive 133-113 home-court win against the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
The game saw the defending NBA champions set a season-high in points, with Pascal Siakam scoring 33 points, Norman Powell added 26 points and Kyle Lowry had 20 points and 11 assists for Toronto. They outscored Cleveland 29-4 in fast-break points.
In truth, the Raptors offense has been fairly modest this season, with them averaging 111.7 points per game. That’s countered by the defense, where Toronto are only allowing 105.7 points per game. In terms of rebounding, Toronto is sitting at 46.3 boards per game, while they are getting 25.2 assists per game.
The Raptors are now 7-5 on the road this season.
Player Match Up: Andre Drummond v Pascal Siakam
The Pistons are hoping that Andre Drummond returns for this game, although it’s as yet unconfirmed.
Drummond leads Detroit in scoring for the season, albeit with a not overly impressive 17.7 Points per Game (PPG). He’s at 16.6 rebounds per game (RPG) and is hitting 54.6% when shooting from the floor. From the free throw line he’s 63.2%.
With Pascal Siakam helping himself to another 30+ points on Tuesday night, he’s now at 25.0 PPG, with an added 8.2 rebounds per game (RPG). Siakam is 45.8 % while shooting from the floor and 81.3% from the line.
Toronto is 9-1 this season when Siakam scores 30 or more and if he can reach that figure here it will make it very difficult for the Pistons, given their struggles to score points.
Detroit Pistons vs Toronto Raptors Betting Lines & Prediction
When the teams met back at the end of October, it was the Raptors who made the most of home-court advantage to come out as 125-113 victors.
The Pistons had shown signs of improvement of late, winning five of their previous seven games, but that was a damaging loss at home to the Wizards on Tuesday night and the Raptors have generally performed well against teams outside the elite this season. With doubts as to the availability of both Griffin and Drummond for Detroit, our NBA predictions going into this game have to favour Toronto.
The tip here is to back the Raptors on the Point Spread -5-0 at -110 (1.90) with Mr Green Sports.
