David Branch vs Jack Hermansson Odds and Betting Prediction

David Branch (22-5) fights Jack “The Joker” Hermansson (18-4) in a UFC Middleweight bout at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

The 37 year-old American Branch, who left WSOF in 2017 (where he held the light heavyweight and middleweight titles) for the UFC, comes into this fight on the back of a 2nd round knockout loss to Jared Cannonier in November, during which he took some heavy shots. He has won six of his last eight fights though and the good news is that he has never lost back-to-back fights in his career.

Recommended Odds

Swedish fighter Hermansson will be coming into this fight having claimed back-to-back stoppage wins in 2018. The 30 year-old secured a 3rd round TKO win over the Brazilian veteran Thales Leites in his opponent’s backyard in May last year (despite suffering a serious rib injury after being taken down in the 1st round and surviving several submission attempts in the 1st and 2nd rounds). Then in December he won by a 1st round guillotine choke submission against the American Gerald Meerschaert in Milwaukee.

David Branch vs Jack Hermansson Betting Lines

This is not an easy fight for predictions between two well-matched and relatively similar fighters. The Branch v Hermansson betting lines indicates as much, with Branch at +105 with Betway Sports and Hermansson a marginal favourite at -125 with William Hill.

These two could well largely cancel each other out when it comes to grappling on the canvas, with Branch being a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Hermansson being a top-class wrestler.

Although Branch is a controlled and calm fighter, the Swede looks to have the extra aggression and striking power that could win the day here and so it’s Hermansson who is the tip to prevail here on that basis.

Pick: Fight Result – Jack Hermansson @ -125 (Bet365)
