Cuba will play Canada on Tuesday evening at the Truman Bodden Stadium in George Town (Cayman Islands) in the CONCACAF Nations League.
In the opening group game, Canada had a 6-0 win at home to Cuba on Saturday evening, with Junior Hoilett scoring a hat-trick and further goals coming from Jonathan David, Jonathan Osorio and Doneil Henry.
These two teams also met in the CONCACAF Gold Cup back in the USA back in June, when Canada ran out 7-0 winners. On that occasion, David and Lucas Cavallini each scored a hat-trick (with Cavallini also missing a penalty), with Hoilett scoring the other goal.
The third team in Group A with Canada and Cuba are the USA, with the group winners progressing through to the semi-finals and the team finishing bottom of the group being relegated.
With the USA not being in great form of late, there is an opportunity here for Canada to make an impact. To do so, one would have to think that it’s imperative that they claim maximum points from this trip to the Cayman Islands though.
Cuba vs Canada CONCACAF Betting Lines & Prediction
With regards to our Cuba v Canada CONCACAF predictions, recent results between these two teams are an indication of the vast gulf in quality between them. The odds certainly reflect that, with Canada strong favourites at -5000 (1.02) at bet365, the draw is +2000 (21.00) at bet365 and the line on Cuba is +2500 (26.00) at bet365.
There’s no value in backing Canada at those betting odds, so it makes sense to look elsewhere. Given previous results, it looks unlikely that Cuba will score, so a Correct Score bet could be worth the risk here. A 4-0 win for Canada is available at +650 (7.50) with bet365 and looks a reasonable tip.
