Colorado Avalanche vs Ottawa Senators Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19

Colorado Avalanche (6-2-2) and the Ottawa Senators (4-3-1) meet on Friday night at the Pepsi Center.

Prior to facing the Senators, the Avalanche also had a game on home-ice against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday evening where they went down to a 1-0 defeat, but they went into that encounter on the back of a three-game winning streak.

The Avalanche won 4-1 against the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on the road on Monday evening, with their victory including two goals from Mikko Rantanen and Goaltender Semyon Varlamov saving 37 of 38 shots he faced.

Varlamov is currently the leading Goaltender in the NHL player stats, with a Goals Against Average of just 1.64 and 201 saves from 211 shots faced this season.  Rantanen also features for the Avalanche towards the top of the Points table, where he stands level with Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Patrice Bergeron (Boston Bruins) on 16, while Nathan MacKinnon is also in close proximity on 15.

The Senators have started the season better than most betting predictions believed they would, but they did go down to a 4-1 defeat to the Boston Bruins at the Canadian Tire Centre on Tuesday evening.

The Senators have an impressive Goals per Game average of 3.63, although they have also conceded goals at exactly the same rate.  On an individual basis, Mark Stone and Maxime Lajoie have both recorded four goals for the Senators.

Home-ice advantage and a number of in-form players in the likes of Gabriel Landeskog, Rantanen, Varlamov and MacKinnon should see the Avalanche justify the odds line in their favour against the Senators and on that basis they are certainly the tips to back on the Money Line.
