The Chicago Blackhawks (9-14-5) play the Montreal Canadiens (13-10-5) at the United Center on Sunday evening.
The Blackhawks faced two road games at the Anaheim Ducks and Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday and Thursday evenings respectively prior to hosting the Canadiens, with their last result before those games being a 3-2 loss on home-ice to the Calgary Flames last Sunday evening. That was a 4th consecutive loss for the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks are averaging 2.75 Goals per Game at present, which places them 24th in the overall NHL rankings. Defensively they’ve allowed 3.68 Goals per Game, which leaves them down in 30th position. On an individual basis, Patrick Kane leads the way for the Blackhawks in terms of both goals and assists, with 13 and 17 respectively.
The Habs faced a trip to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday evening, with their previous game being a 5-2 win on home-ice in the reverse fixture against the Senators on Tuesday evening, in which Max Domi scored two goals and provided an assist.
The Habs are currently averaging 3.07 Goals per Game, which leaves them in 13th place in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they have allowed 3.21 Goals per Game, which leaves them tied 20th overall. Max Domi leads the way for both goals and assists for the Canadiens, having recorded 13 goals and 17 assists to date.
This is not an easy game for NHL betting predictions but, despite home-ice advantage, the Habs are the tips on the Money Line odds here as the Blackhawks are in poor form and are struggling to both score goals and to stop them.
