Is it time for Carlos Condit to retire? It feels as though the ‘Natural Born Killer’ only has a few fights left in him. That’s a maximum. But Michael Chiesa could end his career at UFC 232. If Chiesa consigns Condit to a fifth defeat in a row then the latter is looking into the abyss.
And retirement has been on the cards for a while. Not only has Condit lost his last four fights, he’s lost seven of his last nine. He’s staggering and Chiesa can finish him off later this month.
Not that we expect a standing finish from Chiesa. The jiu-jitsu fighter is a more fearsome proposition when he’s not on his feet. Given that two of Condit’s last four defeats have come via submission, we think that the standout bet for this bout is applying a death grip as we speak.
Chiesa is hardly in the form of his life coming into this fight. Two defeats on the trot leave him looking for a win to get his career back on track. He’s made a radical move up to the welterweight division. Can he smell blood or will Condit meet him gratefully at the gate?
Chiesa has been speaking to the media a lot of late about how fired up he is about this fight in the aftermath of missing out on a Lightweight title shot due to actions of Conor McGregor.
He is taking legal action against McGregor for the injuries that caused him to miss that fight. This could be the first step to coming back into contention for a title fight. Use your free bet to back him to win this fight by submission at -175 with Bet365.
