Spread: Vikings by 10.5
Money Line: Cardinals +423; Vikings -500
The Vikings are going to be hearing one thing all week heading into this matchup– don’t overlook what should be an easy win.
In the Cardinals, they face a very similar team to the one that embarrassed them earlier this season, the Buffalo Bills. Arizona is starting its rookie quarterback, just like the Bills. Their offence, including superstar running back David Johnson, is not producing and the defence is struggling to slow down anyone.
Last week, they gave up over 400 yards of offence to a 49ers team starting its second-string QB. On offence, they barely gained over 200 yards but managed to win with the help of five 49ers turnovers.
Minnesota may not have much of a run game, but the Vikings offence is much better than what the 49ers have. Kirk Cousins has the passing game operating as cleanly as could be expected in his first season with the team.
The Minnesota defence hasn’t looked like the dominant group it was last year for much of the season. But it absolutely did against the Philadelphia Eagles. Will, they do so again and welcome Josh Rosen to the NFL in style?
It is hard to have complete faith in the Vikings because of how they played against the Buffalo Bills. But Josh Rosen is too green, David Johnson is not playing well. If the Vikings defence can play as well as it did against the Eagles, this one could be a shutout.
Don’t bank on the shutout but take the Vikings to win and cover the spread. The Vikings will not cover the over by themselves, but they’ll get enough help from the Cardinals—so take the over.
