Canada vs USA Prediction & Betting Odds - FIBA AmeriCup Final Preview

Canada will play the USA in the final of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Sunday evening.

Canada are the two-time defending champions of the tournament, having won both the 2015 and 2017 editions and claimed a 17th straight win at the regional championships with a 66-58 victory over Brazil in the semifinals on Saturday evening, with Shay Colley leading the way with 23 points.

It was by far the toughest test yet for Canada in the current tournament, who had eased through the group stage with four straight wins, none with a winning margin of less than 28 points.

The USA claimed a fairly conclusive 78-54 win against the host nation Puerto Rico in the second semi final on Saturday, with Sylvia Fowles top-scoring with 17 points.

Canada vs USA FIBA AmeriCup Betting Lines & Prediction

Looking at how the two teams fared against the same opposition in the tournament to date can provide some clue as to how the final might unfold. Canada beat Puerto Rico 78-50 in their third group game, while the USA overcame Brazil 89-73 in their final group game.

This potentially looks as though it could be an incredibly close game, but Canada has been the dominant force on the continent in recent years and, on that basis, they look the team to bet on to retain their title.

As yet there are no odds available for Sunday’s game, but there’s unlikely to be much to choose between the two teams on the FIBA AmeriCup Final betting lines.
