The Calgary Flames (14-9-1) play the Los Angeles Kings (9-14-1) at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday night.
The Flames come into this game on the back of a good run of form that has seen them winning four of their last five games ahead of Wednesday night’s game on home-ice against the Dallas Stars. Those results have taken Flames to 1st position in the Pacific Division, with the 6-1 win on the road at the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday being the last result at the time of writing.
As things stand, the Flames are averaging 3.38 Goals per Game to leave them 8th in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 2.83 Goals per Game, which puts them 13th overall. On an individual basis, Sean Monahan is the Flames leading scorer with 13 goals, while Mark Giordano has contributed 20 assists to date.
The Kings currently occupy the other end of the Pacific Division table prior to Thursday night’s road trip to the Edmonton Oilers, although on the plus side they had won their previous two games, including a 2-1 OT win at the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.
The Kings are currently averaging a lowly 2.17 Goals per Game, which leaves them 31st and last in the overall NHL standings. Defensively they are allowing 3.13 Goals per Game to leave them 19th in those standings. On an individual basis, Anze Kopitar has seven goals for the Kings, while Drew Doughty has 12 assists.
Those poor stats for the Kings mean that any predictions have to favour the Flames in this game. Therefore it’s the Flames that have to be our tips on the Money Line odds in this encounter.
