The Calgary Flames (27-13-4) meet the Florida Panthers (17-17-7) at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday night.

The Flames were last in action on Wednesday evening when they entertained the Colorado Avalanche on home-ice. Prior to that they had a 4-3 win on Monday night on the road at the Chicago Blackhawks.

Recommended Odds

The Flames are currently averaging 3.57 Goals per Game, which leaves them in a good 3rd position in the overall NHL standings at present. Defensively they are allowing 2.82 Goals per Game, which places them 11th best overall.

On an individual basis, Johnny Gaudreau is the main man for the Calgary Flames in terms of both goals and assists, with 26 and 38 respectively.

The Panthers were on the road at the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday evening, but had previously lost their last three games prior to that, with their most recent result being a 5-1 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday evening.

The Panthers are currently averaging 3.15 Goals per Game, which puts them 11th in the overall NHL standings, while defensively they are allowing 3.51 Goals per Game, which leaves them languishing down in 28th position overall for the season.

On an individual player basis, Mike Hoffman has 20 goals for the Panthers to date, while Jonathan Huberdeau has registered 35 assists so far.

Few would argue that the Flames are the obvious betting predictions to win this game based on a series of factors, including current form, stats, the overall quality of their roster and home-ice advantage. As a consequence, the Flames have to be our NHL bet to win on the Money Line betting odds as a result.
