The two teams went head-to-head on Wednesday, when Boston beat Toronto 118-102 in what was the first NBA game played on Christmas Day in Canada.
Having gone an NBA-record 34 games and over four years between home losses to any of their division rivals (that included eight consecutive home wins against the Celtics), it was a particularly difficult defeat for the Raptors.
Jaylen Brown scored 30 points for the Celtics, with Kemba Walker adding 22.
The Celtics were also in action on Friday evening, when they won 129-117 at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers. That stretched their winning run to five straight to improve to 9-2 in December.
The game saw Brown match his career high with 34 points, while JaysonTatum added a further 30.
Fred VanVleet scored 27 points for the Raptors and Chris Boucher had a career-high 24.
It was a second straight loss for Toronto and the Raptors are now 2-2 since losing center Marc Gasol (left hamstring), guard Norman Powell (left shoulder) and forward Pascal Siakam (groin) to injuries.
Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors Betting Lines & Predictions
Looking at NBA predictions for this game, the injuries look as though they are beginning to impact on the Toronto Raptors, who have coped admirably with various absences to key players this season until recently. Scoring points hasn’t been easy for them anyway, but the absence of Siakam has amplified that.
For the tips we’ll take the Celtics -6.5 on the Point Spread at odds of -110 (1.90) with 888Sport.
