Edmonton had looked like a playoff-bound team a few weeks ago. At the same time, Winnipeg looked destined to be done once the regular season ended. But then the Eskimos lost four of their last five and fell out of contention. Winnipeg, on the other hand, has won five in a row including a 30-3 romp over Edmonton in Week 16.
The Eskimos would love to end their season on a high note and with a 9-9 record rather than an 8-10 one. But while that could provide some much-needed motivation for some, will it do so for enough guys to make a difference.
The bigger question is whether pivot Mike Reilly can find the dominant form he had in the first half of the season one last time. With him struggling at the time, the offence has become wildly inconsistent. In their previous five games, they scored 30+ twice while scoring 15 or under in the other three—including a three-point performance the last time they played Winnipeg.

So—who’s going to win?
Winnipeg hasn’t made any announcements about resting guys, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do so as game day approaches. But, since they have had their struggles this season, it wouldn’t be shocking if they didn’t sit anyone in the interest of keeping the momentum rolling with them.
Assuming everyone plays as they have been, this game will be in hand by the fourth quarter at the latest.
Take Winnipeg to win over Edmonton. How Edmonton has considered the favourite in this one is a mystery. But they don’t stand a chance straight up or against the spread (-4.5). As for the over/under—take the under this week (52).
