Atletico Madrid meet Juventus in the 1st leg of their Champions League last 16 tie at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on the evening of Wednesday 20 February.
These two teams will both fancy their chances of going on to win the competition if they can navigate their way through this tie, with Atletico having the added incentive of knowing the final will be played in their home stadium.
Atletico have a formidable defensive record and they will be desperate to keep a clean sheet in the 1st leg to take to Turin. However, after an excellent run of just one loss in their previous 20 games, they did suffer a 3-1 La Liga defeat at home to city rivals Real Madrid on Saturday afternoon. Head coach Diego Simeone will demand a response against Juventus.
Despite the fact that Juventus are well on course for an 8th consecutive domestic league title in Italy, some observers don’t regard this as a particularly impressive team compared to that of a perhaps a couple of years ago. The one addition they have this season of course is Cristiano Ronaldo and with him on the roster, they can never be ruled out.

In terms of our predictions, it’s always tempting to look at there being relatively few goals in any game involving Atletico. They would probably even be relatively content with a goalless draw and back themselves to claim a vital away goal in Italy.
On that basis, the tips in this game is in the Away Team Total Goals Over/Under market, where the line for Under 0.5 (i.e. Juventus not to score) is +180 with 888sport. There is some appeal in those betting odds.
