If all you do is look at how the Week Two matchup between these two played out, you will not be getting the full and proper picture. Calgary is roughly the same team. Bo Levi Mitchell is still one of the best pivots in the game. Their defence is still pretty stout and when they want to run the ball, they can.
Toronto still has one of the weaker defences in the league. They have trouble against the pass and their really not good against the run either. But ever since McLeon Bethel-Thompson took over at pivot, the offence has played much better.
When they would have folded earlier in the season, the Argos are finding ways to battle back into games. Take them lightly, and Toronto may be good enough now to sneak up on even the best teams and steal a win.
Can they do just that against the team many believe will win the Grey Cup this year?
Spread: Stampeders by 13
Probably not. It makes for a nice story to think they could, but the Stampeders are not going to overlook the Argos. However, the Argos are a better team then they were in Week Two. So take them and the points.
Calgary can and probably will score a fair amount of points. But it is not easy to have faith in the Argonauts to score enough to take the over. So– take the under.
Money Line: Argonauts +500; Stampeders -700
Anyone that takes Toronto to win doesn’t like money. Take Calgary to win.
