Amir “King” Khan (33-4) fights Terence “Bud” Crawford (34-0) on Saturday 20th April at Madison Square Garden, New York City.
Crawford is defending his WBO welterweight title for the second time since beating Jeff Horn in June 2018, while this will be Khan’s first world title fight since a KO loss to Mexico’s Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in 2016.
Crawford is widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world and is undefeated in his 34 fights to date, 25 of which were KO victories. The 31-year old American has held titles at lightweight, light welterweight and welterweight divisions and has the ability to switch from an orthodox stance to southpaw.
Khan has never lost as a welterweight and can boast 20 KOs in his victories to date. However, his best days are behind him and his chin isn’t exactly renowned for being able to take a punch either.
If Khan is to win this one would suspect he has to do so early on given that Crawford has a reputation for being a fairly slow starter. The longer the fight progresses, the more Crawford is likely to dominate.
Amir Khan vs Terence Crawford Betting Lines & Pick
Crawford is the clear favourite to win this fight and can be backed in Fight Result betting at odds of -1250 with SportingBet, with the Khan betting line set at +800 with bet365. The draw is available at +2500 with Betway Sports.
In terms of boxing predictions, with an aging Amir Khan no longer quite having the speed that made him a top level boxer, it looks likely that the American will finish the job once the fight goes beyond the midpoint of the 12 rounds.
On that basis, the ‘Round Group Betting’ could be the best market to look at, with the line on Crawford to win in Rounds 7-12 offered at +130 with 888sport.
