Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem (45-17-0, 1NC) fights Jairzinho “Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik (9-0-0) in a UFC on ESPN Heavyweight bout at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on Saturday night.
The 39 year-old Dutchman Alistair Overeem won his last fight against Alexey Oleinik with a knees & ground & pound in the closing stages of the first round at UFC Saint Petersburg in April. Prior to that, Overeem also won his previous fight in November 2018, when he beat Sergey Pavlovich with a ground-and-pound TKO.
Rozenstruik, a 31 year-old from Suriname, made his UFC debut in February, knocking out Junior Albini early in the second round.
“Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik is making a name for himself as a powerful striker and has since KO’d Allen Crowder after just nine seconds and, a little over a month ago, Andrei Arlovski in 29 seconds at UFC 244.
Alistair Overeem vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik Betting Lines & Predictions
Looking at UFC on ESPN7 predictions for this fight, the betting odds on the Fight Result for this bout are very tight, with Alistair Overeem a marginal favourite. The veteran Dutchman is a legend in the game, but his age has to be taken as a major factor at this stage of his career.
With the younger Rozenstruik having been in such destructive form of late, the Suriname fighter looks the tip as the outsider in this one, particularly with Overeem having been knocked out on six occasions in UFC since 2013.
