Aleksei “The Boa Constrictor” Oleinik (57-12-1) takes on Walt “The Big Ticket” Harris (12-7-0-1NC) in a Heavyweight contest that’s the co-main event at the AT & T Center in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday night.
This fight was originally scheduled to take place on May 4, 2019, at UFC Fight Night 151. However, Oleinik was pulled from the bout and he fought Alistair Overeem instead. The Oleinik and Harris fight has now been rescheduled for this event.
The 41-year-old veteran Ukrainian-born Russian fighter Oleinik is coming into this fight on the back of a Round 1 loss to Overeem in April, in which “The Demolition Man” from the Netherlands beat him with a Knees & Ground & Pound after 4:45.
Oleinik isn’t renowned as one of the most powerful punchers in the heavyweight division, with only eight of his 57 professional wins coming by KO or TKO. The area in which the aptly named, ”Boa Constrictor”, really excels is in submissions, with an astonishing 79 percent submission rate, consisting of five UFC fights and 45 overall.
35-year-old American Walt Harris comes into this fight just a couple of months after his last contest, although it was one he ended after just 0:50 of Round 1 with a KO of Sergey Spivak of Ukraine. In fact, all 12 of Harris’s career victories have come via KO, although he’s yet to knockout a ranked opponent and Oleinik would be his biggest scalp to date.
