The NFL is always highly competitive, but for the forthcoming season the main teams to watch look to be New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. There are plenty of rivalries throughout the NFL, with some of the biggest being those between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL consists of 32 teams organized into eight geographic divisions of four teams each, with these divisions further organized into two conferences of 16 teams each – the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). There then follows a twelve-team (six from each Conference – the winners of each of the four divisions, as well as two wild card teams, made up of the two remaining teams with the best overall record) single-elimination playoff culminating in the Super Bowl, the league’s championship game.
With regards to NFL betting tips, the New England Patriots could be the team to back in the futures market for the Super Bowl this season. The Los Angeles Rams look strong candidates to win the NFC.

The National Hockey League is comprised of 31 teams – 24 in the USA and seven in Canada. The season is divided into a regular season and a postseason (the Stanley Cup playoffs).
The Washington Capitals are the reigning Stanley Cup champions and other top teams at present include Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins. Some of the biggest NHL rivalries take place between Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders and New York Rangers and Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.
In the regular season, each team plays 82 games: 41 games each of home and road. The league’s regular season standings are based on a point system. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for losing in overtime or a shootout, and zero points for a loss in regulation. At the end of the regular season, the team that finishes with the most points in each division is crowned the division champion, with the league’s overall leader is awarded the Presidents’ Trophy.
Eight teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs: the top three teams in each division plus the two conference teams with the next highest number of points. The Stanley Cup playoffs is an elimination tournament where two teams play against each other to win a best-of-seven series (the higher-ranked team is awarded home-ice advantage, with four of the seven games played at this team’s home venue) in order to advance to the next round. The final remaining team is crowned the Stanley Cup champion.
In terms of NHL betting tips, the Edmonton Oilers could be worth a look as Pacific Division champions, while the Toronto Maple Leafs could potentially go all the way in the Stanley Cup.

Among the main UFC rivalries is that of lightweight champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier and bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and his bitter rival Cody Garbrandt.
Scheduled events throughout the remainder of 2018 include UFC 228, headlined by a UFC Welterweight Championship bout between current champion Tyron Woodley and Darren Till; UFC Fight Night 136, including a heavyweight bout between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabrício Werdum and Oleksiy Oliynyk.
A huge UFC event comes in October at UFC 229, featuring a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor and there’s also UFC Fight Night 138 held in Moncton, New Brunswick, in which the event headliner will be a light heavyweight bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight Championship challenger Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith.
Nurmagomedov looks a solid UFC betting tip to beat McGregor, while the Woodley versus Till bout looks almost too close to call, with perhaps a slight preference for Woodley.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and one in Canada).
The big rivalries in the NBA, both current and historical, include Cleveland Cavaliers v Golden State Warriors, Golden State Warriors v Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns v San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls v Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers v Boston Celtics. The best teams in the NBA at present include the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors.
During the regular season, each team plays 82 games, 41 each home and away. A team faces opponents in its own division four times a year (16 games). Each team plays six of the teams from the other two divisions in its conference four times (24 games), and the remaining four teams three times (12 games). Finally, each team plays all the teams in the other conference twice apiece (30 games). The NBA Playoffs sees the top eight teams in each conference, regardless of divisional alignment, competing for the Championship. Seeds are awarded in strict order of regular-season record.
The first seed plays against the eighth seed in the playoffs, the second seed plays the seventh seed, the third seed plays the sixth seed, and the fourth seed plays the fifth seed. The team in each series with the better record has home court advantage. The NBA playoffs follow a tournament format. Each team plays an opponent in a best-of-seven series, with the first team to win four games advancing into the next round, while the other team is eliminated from the playoffs.
The final playoff round, a best-of-seven series between the victors of both conferences, is known as the NBA Finals, with the victor in the winning the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
When it comes to NBA betting tips, it’s difficult to see past the Golden State Warriors for the NBA Championship, while the Boston Celtics could be the team to back for the Eastern Conference winner.
